Brody’s story touched my heart from the moment PAWS Rescue posted about him needing a foster or foster-to-adopt home. I already had my own pack of little ones at home, so I could only watch, hope, and pray that Brody would find his forever family.

His sister, Maizey, found a foster quickly, and eventually, Brody did too. However, his fear and confusion overwhelmed him, and he managed to escape. For 10 agonizing days, I prayed he would be found, my heart breaking for him. Finally, the incredible news came—Brody had been caught.

Without hesitation, I reached out to Rachel to see if he needed a new foster. When she said yes, I didn’t think twice and offered to take him in.

When I picked Brody up, he was scared and shut down. But as soon as he met my other dogs at home, a glimmer of hope appeared. He slowly began to open up, though it took him a day or two to feel safe enough to eat. Despite his fear, he refused to leave my side, seeking comfort and reassurance.

Over the next several months, Brody transformed. With trips to the vet, surgery to repair his eye, and lots of love, he began to trust us. Even my husband, who Brody was initially wary of, became part of his inner circle. Eventually, we realized we couldn’t put him through the stress of another change. Brody had become a part of our family, and we couldn’t imagine life without him. Now, Brody is home forever. He keeps us laughing with his funny antics, and we love him more than words can express.
