Adopting a dog or cat can save their life. Each year, numerous cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters due to the lack of a safe home.

Are you craving the unconditional love and companionship of a furry friend? Have you been tipping the idea of adopting a four-legged companion back and forth in your mind? Have you perused countless adoption websites, mesmerized by the adorable faces of hopeful pets? Look no further, for this decision is not one to be taken lightly. Taking on the responsibility of a new pet can bring endless joy, but it also requires a lot of commitment and dedication. Careful consideration is crucial when choosing between a small and purring feline or a loyal and slobbering canine. Both offer their share of unique charms and challenges. This is where you must ask yourself, are you ready to embark on this unforgettable journey? Are you prepared to care for a life that will love you unconditionally? Can you handle the adventure of a new best friend who may occasionally create chaos and leave destruction in their path? There’s only one question left to answer: are you ready to adopt a dog or cat?

Adoption Process

Adoptions are completed in person on a first-come, first-served basis. Review our adoption process below for more detailed information.

Choosing a Pet, the Steps

  • Browse available animals online- links below.
  • Fill out an adoption application for the animal you are interested in adopting. All animals will be adopted based on a first come, first served basis. Please note there is a different application per animal type.
  • A member of our team will reach out to you to set up a virtual adoption counseling appointment.
  • Once you are approved to adopt, we will schedule an appointment to come to the shelter.

Adoption Requirements

  • If you are interested in adopting a dog, the homeowner or person on the lease must visit the dog prior to adoption.
  • Shelter dogs must also visit with all dogs that are already in the home.
  • No one under 18 years of age may adopt an animal. Valid identification is required.
  • Adoption fee is payable at the time of adoption, all fees are non-refundable.
  • If the animal has not yet been spayed or neutered, it will be scheduled for the next available surgery date and released once it has recovered.

To Adopt a Pet:  If you already know which pet(s) you’d like to meet or adopt, please check in when you arrive on campus. An adoption counselor will then meet with you on a first-come, first-served basis, introduce you to the pet(s) you’re interested in and help complete your adoption.
